In pursuit of its mandate, the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) regularly assembles interested parties from across the country to collectively advance actions that strengthen the mental health system. Ascribe has covered numerous MHCC conferences and meetings, providing journalistic summaries of presentations and panels, distilled lists of key takeaways, and accurate records of recommended actions.
MHCC events have touched on a wide range of topics related to mental health. Whether in person, virtually or using recordings, we’ve audited and summarized events concerning knowledge exchange, stigma, youth issues, psychological health and safety, diversity, e-mental health solutions, mental health expenditures, access to psychotherapies, and more. The scope of these engagements ranges from small, half-day roundtables to large, multi-day conferences. The largest MHCC event Ascribe has covered was a three-day conference that brought together 670 delegates from 29 countries.
Before every event, we assess the agenda to determine how many writers are needed, the best way to capture elements such as breakout sessions and the type of report required — from concise, high-level recaps to longer, more detailed summaries. For the three-day conference, we produced a 100+ page event report covering all 115 sessions.
Unlike transcripts and summaries generated by AI capture solutions, which are often inaccurate, our reports reflect the deep experience and critical thinking of an expert editorial team. Our writers draw on strong journalistic skills to synthesize and distill subject matter into clear, actionable takeaways that help contributors turn event learnings into tangible outcomes.
Ascribe’s MHCC event reports provide participants with clear and engaging summaries of what was discussed and recommended to inform further action. For other interested parties, the reports offer a view into the important work MHCC is doing to help improve mental health outcomes for all people in Canada.
